Kinross aquired 253,100 shares of Cumberland this week, bringing its aggregate share ownership to 6.93 million or 12.74% of the issued and outstanding shares of Cumberland. Kinross' President and CEO is particularly interested in the company's Meadowbank Gold project in Nunavut, consider the third largest undeveloped gold project in Canada.
