Prefab House
clipped from www.sfgate.com

The Pop-Up House comes in a flat pack with U.S.-manufactured structurally integrated panels (SIPs) for both the walls and roof, plus the components for the shed roof, architectural and engineering plans for both systems, a step-by-step building instruction manual and DVD.

The cost is $160,000; $100,000 for a single cube.

While the Pop-Up House kit is available for sale at www.ehouseport.com, Thacher said she has found a partner and is seeking investors to help her build more of them, as both a marketing tool and investment.
