w.bloggar is a standalone blog post editor. I
started using it when I originally had my blog
and podcasts on Blogger, and liked it for its
simplicity and tight integration. It allowed me
to compose posts offline, post them direct to
Blogger, and then edit them afterwards as much as
I wished, i.e. I would never need to touch
Blogger's web-based post editor again. A
particularly strong feature, in my opinion, was
the preview - if I was writing a post with
images, audio / video or other enclosures, I
could see an accurate representation of how that
post would appear.
Once I'd migrated my blog and podcasts to Radio
Userland, I continued to use w.Bloggar to compose
my posts. Once I was happy with the post's
content, I would copy the underlying HTML and
paste that into Radio's desktop post editor. This
worked fine, so long as I remembered to select
the HTML source mode, not WYSIWYG - it occurs to
me I could just have disabled WYSIWYG mode. It
also occurred to me later on that I could
configure w.Bloggar to post directly to Radio -
but this was not satisfactory, as some special
characters were mangled by the RPC / API.
